Well another 4th of July is upon us, and it brought a lot of dust here. Massive amounts actually. No matter how many times it happens, it is always something of a shock to open the door to my hooch and see that everything has taken on a bright orangish-red hue from all of the dust in the air. No matter what I try with my cheap little POS camera, I can't capture the color in a picture. It is like being on Mars.
I spent the day just sitting around waiting for something to happen. Yeah, nothing did. I definitely appreciate the dust though, it has kept the temperature down to a balmy 100 degrees haha. Visibility was down to under 100 yards, and the talcum powder-like dust just piles up on everything. It's like snow, you can walk around and leave bootprints everywhere.
I am grateful for days like today though, it has been nice and slow and I've had a chance to do some reading, and I even mopped and cleaned my entire office! Domestic Pete!
And I imagine that it's kind of obvious that I didn't have anything in particular in mind as I started typing, though I was tempted to repeat on here a joke that was written on the wall of the porta-potty. I'm hungry, it's lasagna day, and I want thirds. Ah well, another 4th of July has come and is on it's way out. I want to remember this one, hopefully someday my semi-coherent ramblings will serve to help me remember days like today. I do miss this place when I leave, and I never want to forget it, or my time spent here.
