It’s a beautiful, lazy Sunday afternoon but I’m pissed because I missed Church again on account of just simply forgetting that it was Sunday. This is like the 3rd time in a row, I’m gonna kick myself in the head if this happens again. Sundays are maintenance days so our choppers are always down and inevitably I’ll just be relaxing in the room or out walking someplace and I’ll look at my watch and get that “Oh crap!” feeling that comes from being really late for something important. Boot to the head! *wham!* Ah well.

But as usual on these nice, slow days I’ve been doing a bit of thinking. I’m only about 6 months out for my R&R but I’m still getting excited. Other than getting my wisdom teeth pulled, I really haven’t made any big plans. I’d like to go back to the States and rent a cabin out by a lake and spend at least a few days swimming and napping in a hammock. The only bad part would be having to rent a girlfriend and a big dog haha. More than anything, I just want to get in my car or truck and hit the open road and just go somewhere, I’m tired of being cooped up here. Perhaps I’ll have to get my map out and find a few places within a good 8-12 hour drive of Denver…or rent a motorcycle and ride down Route 66. I definitely count myself as lucky to have choices!

And it’s pretty funny, in the 45 minutes that I’ve been wasting typing and chatting, the beautiful sunny weather just clouded over into a big angry red dust storm. Lots of lightning and thunder, some rain, this is so awesome.

Here’s me getting caught in the rain…minus my pina colada.
