Yay for Church!

I made it out to Church here in-between missions and it felt so good to be there. The Serviceman's Branch here is a wonderful mix of nationalities and professions. I've always had a thing for international groups.

And one of the speakers was a Navy Seabee who gave one of the most immediately relevant talks that I've heard in a long time. We recently got nailed by some pretty bad rainstorms, the first of the season here. He remarked that this sudden test of bad weather gave him and his men the opportunity to realize the weaknesses in their construction; bad drainage, holes in roofs, etc. All things that they never would have realized otherwise had they not been tested.

He related that to strengthening ourselves and utilizing every test of our faith to recognize and repair our weaknesses. There was a lot more to it than that but that's Pete's Paraphrase. I love listening to old guys in Church, they've been-there-done-that and they don't care, they just tell it like it is. How I long to be old and wise! lol
